So the summer is over and it’s time to start thinking about what styles you’re going to take into the Autumn. I don’t tend to take many Summer styles over into the new season but as I am trying to be a bit more conscious about the amount of clothing I buy, I am making an exception. You will have plenty of hidden gems in your wardrobe that are worthy of taking with you into the new season, especially any denim styles. Denim is timeless, so you do not have to worry about it being on trend or not. Some of the styles below probably won’t surprise you but I have made some slight adjustments to make them more worthy of wearing in the Autumn. Read of for some inspo…
Although the summer hasn’t quite lived up to the very high standards that we set this time last year, that doesn’t mean that we have to completely write off summer 2019 as a massive failure. Stock levels are high amongst the high streets and turnover is key, so be set for some very frantic summer sales!
Last week i decided to spend some time digging through some old items and seeing what i could possibly “up-cycle”. I stumbled upon some amazing ankle boots that I never used to have off my feet, that i had completely forgot had existed. And guess what…they were on this weeks latest runway at the London fashion show. I don’t really care too much about following certain trends and dress the way I want. I am at a point in my life where I know what styles look good on me and what don’t.I know that these boots will always have a soft spot in my heart. I love anything with embroidery so these ankle boots, with their intricate stitching detail, makes me love them that little bit more.
Spring season is on the horizon and the transitional period can be a tricky one to adjust to. I personally to rebuild my wardrobe around the idea that it could be quite warm, but also rain, and also snow, and possibly even thunder. What you must remember is the Springtime is actually the end of Winter. Although the cold snap may not have arrived fully, i would still advise packing a warm winter coat no matter what the occasion. A good way to battle the harsh conditions of early Spring is to shop around for some Winter styles that are available in Spring/Summer shades.
The build up to this event is somewhat dramatic and eagerly anticipated. Designers that are exhibiting are always frantically rushing around adding the finished touches to this seasons trend setting styles. Taking a look at some of our leading designers, read through my thoughts on this marvellous occasion. My personal highlights are listed below
Which ever super woman out there that was the first to team sneakers with a trouser suit, can I please salute you right here and now. If we ever meet, I would literally worship the ground that you walked on (obviously in your trainers and checked pants). We’d have so much fun shopping. I have built up this image of a girl that only wears what she feels comfy in and doesn’t adhere to trends. Her outfit of choice would be a pastel coloured trouser suit with a fitted cami top underneath and finished off with some Adidas Superstar Trainers.
The festive period has come to a close for one more year and we are all that little bit fatter, and the January blues have really started to set in. If that’s you then don’t worry too much…everyone is in the same boat. The only thing that makes me remotely happy is looking through my wardrobe from the last couple of months. I always love some of the styles that I have been wearing but sadly most of us feel that you need to ditch those styles until next Christmas. The thing is, some of those styles will carry over into the Spring and look just as fantastic as they did over the festive period.
